Prof. David Adewale Oke

Prof. David Adewale Oke: Chief Medical Director - Lagos State University Teaching Hospital

A consultant cardiologist with specialist training in Israel, Fellow of the National Postgraduate Medical College, Associate Member of the West African College of Physicians and an alumnus of the College of Medicine of the University of Lagos (B.sc Biochemistry, 1976; MBBS 1980), he was a recipient of the Best resident Award in the Department of Medicine, University of Lagos (1982)

Focused, action-oriented and results-driven, Professor David Oke has served both as a member and chairperson of over 16 committees in academia, health services and industry. He provides specialist consults for several corporate healthcare organizations.

An examiner of the National and West African Post-graduate Medical Colleges, he has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles and supervised 7 postgraduate dissertations

Appointed in January 2011 by His Excellency, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola to head the management team, he has academic, administrative and management experience spanning over 30 years including 10 years at the executive level. Professor Oke brings to LASUTH a wealth of experience, dynamism and determination to contribute towards the ongoing transformation efforts by focusing on system effectiveness throughout the organization.

Prof. Adewale Oke graduated from Birch Freman High School in 1971. And he is a member of the Guild of Awardees of Birch Freeman High Scool Old Boys' Asociation (BIFOBA) for Excellence in Medicine.
