Prof. Wasiu Adeshola Muse

Professor W. A. Muse was born in 1952 in Olowogbowo area of Lagos, Lagos State. He is married with children. He attended Birch Freeman High School, Surulere between 1966 and 1971 and St Gregorys College, Obalende, Lagos between 1972 and 1973. He was in Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife between 1975 and 1979, 1982 and 1984 and 1986 and 1991 and obtained B. Sc. Biology, M.Sc. Zoology and Ph. D. Zoology respectively. His area of specialization is Physiology and Entomology. He joined the service of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife as an Assitant Lecturer in 1984 and rose to the post of Professor of Insect Physiology in 2003.

He served the University on various Departmental, Faculty and University committees. He served as Head of Department, Vice Dean of Faculty of Science and presently the Dean-elect of the Faculty of Science. He won several distinctions and awards from the Lagos State Government, Federal Government of Nigeria, Daiko Research Foundation, Nagoya, Japan, Orthopterists' Research Award, USA and Obafemi Awolowo University Research Grants. He has served as Assoicate Lecturer, External Examiner and External Assessor to various universities in Nigeria. He is a member of the Entomological Society of America, Orthopterists' Society (USA) and a fellow of the Entomological Society of Nigeria.
