  • BFHS Marks 56th Founders’ Day Anniversary In Grand Style

…  Lagos State Deputy Governor, Adebule to Commission N3.4million Musical Instrument

The Birch Freeman High School Surulere will agog this weekend as the School celebrates its 56th Founders’ Day anniversary in a grand style. The School was founded on 6th February, 1960.

Unlike the previous Founders’ Day celebration that was a day affair, this year’s celebration is a two-day event. The Programme starts 9:30 am each day. The venue is the School Ultra Modern Auditorium.

According to the Organizers, on the first day, Friday, 5th February, two seasoned public Speakers will address Old Boys’, School Governing Board, Parent Forum and the Public on employability, Entrepreneurship and Productivity +; Living your dream Life.

“Mr. Tope Toogun is a renowned management expert; he will be speaking on Employability and Entrepreneurship. While, another notable life Coach Mrs. Abisola Longe will prepare the attendees for a productive life and teach them how they can live their dream life”, Olise-Emeka Nwachukwu the National Welfare Officer and also a member of the Planning Committee said.

The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Dr Idiat Adebule who also doubles as the Commissioner for Education will commission N3.4 million worth of musical instrument which was donated by the Old Boys of the North America Chapter to constitute a BFHS 30-Student Musical Orchestra.

It was also gathered that leadership of the BIFOBA will also use the occasion to formally inaugurate a cash-backed endowment scheme for indigent but outstanding students of the School. The scheme will be sponsored by members of the Prestigious BIFOBA Guild of Awardees and distinguish members of BIFOBA.

Speaking further on the uniqueness of the 2016 Founders’  Day, Mr. Nwachukwu said, “Birch Freeman High School being the current reference point in architectural and academic excellence in Lagos State, five Students from 17 Secondary Schools (in BFHS Schools) have been invited to understudy the developmental  strides of the BFHS”

So, this year anniversary is like no other. Old Boys are expected to deck in the School Blazer on Friday while we are expected to storm the same venue in Business Casual on Saturday”.

  • Mr. Adeyemi,

    Many thanks for the words.

  • Olise-Emeka,

Very good of you for sharing the "2015 BIFOBA Homecoming Event" with your friends on your Facebook account. Keep on doing that. This is one of the ways to globally promote the image of our school and of our alumni association. Others with Facebook accounts should be doing same too. Thank you!

  • Hello Olise-Emeka,

Good day to you in Lagos! Can't you prepare a "flier" (a short announcement material) for the 51st anniversary of the school for posting on the school's website? Please prepare a flier and forward it to the "web manager" for posting on bifoba website; we can even broadcast the message directly to all alumni globally.

What are you thinking with all these short messages you dropped which will soon disappear anyway?

    Thank you!

  • Olise-Emeka,

Is it possible for you guys to make the recorded school's song and pledge available? Not just the printed wordings. And also the school address and the basic contact information of the school's administrators for the website: principals' names, telephones, email addresses, and so on.
