My Dear Fellow Old Boys,

HURRAY! It is a New Year. I welcome you with all my heart to the year 2017. Let us with a gladsome mind praise the Lord for he is kind. Yes, the Lord has been kind to us. He has preserved us to see yet another year in good health. He deserves our praises. May Glory and Honour continue to be to his NAME.

My Dear Brothers, We really have cause to be happy. The year 2016 was not a bad year for our dear Association. If we were to count our blessings and name them one by one, we would see that despite the challenges of the recession, the Lord preserved and uplifted us.

For example, in the year 2016, we:

(1) Had a smooth transition from one exco to the other.
(2) Constructed a Basket/Volley Ball pitch
(3) Successfully fixed all the Doors and Windows of our Auditorium
(4) Successfully repaired the school roof
(5) Junior school building completed
(6) Football field in advance stage of completion
(7) North America/United Kingdom Chapters functioning optimally
(8) Set meetings increased and improved
(9) WASCE Result excellent (100% pass)
(10) Monthly General Meetings held from May to December.

Who would have believed that we would fix all the doors and windows of our Auditorium without external help? Gentlemen, let us clap for ourselves. We have proved to the whole world that we were truly trained for duty and for God. Let us continue to hold our heads high and please continue to – STRENGTHEN THE PRIDE.

However, my dear brothers, it is not over yet. We still have a lot to do. A house without the toilet is not a complete house. We need as a matter of urgency to fix our toilet. Recall that our Founders day is coming up on the 6th of February 2017, while our Home Coming comes up on Saturday, April 29, 2017. We will make use of our Auditorium for those two very important events. Dignitaries would come. Our spouses would come. We too would be there. Imagine if we are pressed by the call of nature. We may be able to handle it. But what about our spouses? What about our guests?

Gentlemen, it is for this reason that I am deeply worried and concerned. We need to put our toilet facilities right. By the time we complete this, we would have put our Auditorium in a complete functional state.

Accordingly, exco invited quotation for the rehabilitation of the toilet facilities, cess pool and the borehole. We have received quotation as follows:

1. Completion of Sanitary wares, pipes and other
Fittings to male and female toilets 580,000:00

2. Construction of re – inforced concrete
Cess pool close to the toilets 600,000:00

3. Drilling of mini borehole with submersible
Pump to serve the existing overhead water tank
On roof slap 200,000:00

4. Laminated doors to toilets 400,000:00

                                       Total N1,780,000:00

Gentlemen, we have done it before. We can do it again. Let us give ourselves a befitting toilet. Sets, Chapters, over to you. Please call me on 08023043967 or 07080378023. I await your call please.

Gentlemen the rains would soon be here. The floor of the canopy to the main entrance of our Auditorium needs to be screwed. We do not want the next rainy season to meet the entrance canopy the way it is. We need to screed the floor and do the following and at the cost below in order to prevent further leakage when it rains:

1. 46MM thick cement and sand screed laid of
tall and cross tall on top of concrete roof
Canopy slab 300,000:00

2. 4MM thick rubberized hot rolled bituminous roof
Felt laid with blow lamp including surface
Priming 320,000:00

3. Aluminium capping to concrete
Fascia on canopy 80,000:00

My Dear Brothers, we need N2,480,000.00 (Two Million Four Hundred and Eighty Thousand Naira). Let us not be afraid. The Lord God who started this project for us and assisted us to get this far will see us through. Let us arise and take up this challenge. Sets or individuals can take up the whole or any of the items. May God help us. Amen.

I now need to remind us of our Founder’s Day – February 6, 2017. Those of us who created endowments are hereby reminded to please send in their pledges so that we can use same on that day. Those of us who are yet to make any pledge, you still have the opportunity to do so. Pick any of the subjects and place an award on it. You may endow for students or teachers. Call me if in doubt as to what to do. I also need to remind you about our Home Coming – Saturday, April 29, 2017. Dinner fee for you and your spouse is only N10, 000.00 only. Please pay ahead of time to enable the committee plan properly for us. Set payment is encouraged. A table for 10 is N100,000.00. Table for 20 is N200,000.00 only. Let’s make this year HomeComing a memorable event.
